Life Will Set You Free
The turbine engines roared
We lifted into the sky
33,000 feet in the air
We were flying high
'Cross Iceland, Greenland, Canada
Then into L.A.town
My ears we're poppin'
My face was achin'
As we descended down
We caught a cab
Headin' North
Through Marina Del Rey
Dennis drowned here
Brian moved on
And Carl just passed away
The driver drops us at the door
Our hostel on Second Street
24 hours since we left home
Hearing Pet Sounds was so neat
Wake up in the morning
We walk Santa Monica Bay
We meet a sea shark fisherman from Mexico
But he's not the one (not the one)
No, he's not the one (not the one)
Yeah! He's not the one
The Kid from L.A.
Every road is a six lane highway
We take our lives in our hands
We take a trip to the Getty Center
Look across suburban land
We spend a day inthe Hollywood Hills
See how the other half live
Back on Santa Monica Boulevard
The beggars ask us to give
Wake up in the morning
We stroll Santa Monica Bay
We meet a former stuntman from Hollywood
But he's not the one (not the one)
No, he's not the one (not the one)
Yeah! He's still not the one
The Kid from L.A.
Walk out in the evening
Third Street Santa Monica Bay
He's ten and playing guitar like Hendrix
Could he be the one (could he be the one)
He must be the one (must be the one)
Yeah, he is the one
The Kid from L.A.

Dan Russell - Lead vocals, acoustic guitar, backing vocals
This pacy acoustic rocker is the story of Dan's first aeroplane journey and his first visit to Los Angeles, and the characters he met in that sprawling metropolis! It has a pretty come down at the start of each chorus, before exploding back with the chorus line. This song has been constantly performed with Pacific Groove during the last 18 months or so and a full "all singing, all dancing" version of it will appear on the forthcoming Pacific Groove album.
