Jason says: "Dan and me were in my studio putting the finishing touches to the Road To California album, some time around the spring of 2002. I was putting a bass part down when I chanced upon a new riff, which I promptly recorded into the computer.

We abandoned what we were originally doing and proceeded to add layers and layers of vocals to the new bass part, followed by multiple guitars and drum loops. I went back to it a few weeks later and tidied it up a bit.

I'm not entirely sure why we kept singing the same phrase over and over again. Dan did actually record an improvised vocal take, which was about 25 minutes long. It didn't end up in the final mix. File this one under 'studio jam'."
