Pacific Groove was formed in January 2002 by Dan Russell with Steve Orchard and Nick Hughes. Since then over 60 different band members have boarded and/or departed the good ship Pacific Groove, including Dan Russell himself, who left the group in February 2008 after six years at the helm.

Dan went on to form The Creek with former Pacific Groove member John Baxter, while the remaining members decided to form a new group called Nu Fusion, signalling the end of Pacific Groove.

Beneath is a short biogography of some of the musicians who graced the line-up over the years, along with details of the players on the From Stockwood To Woodstock album, plus the various other musicians involved with Pacific Groove since 2002.

The debut Pacific Groove release was a compilation of tracks spanning the first era of the band from January 2002 to February 2005.

The tracks were recorded in six different studios, using five different producers and featuring eight of the nineteen musicians who boarded the good ship Pacific Groove during the first three years of existence.
